Dan Krall wrote an amazing advice on getting into animation on his blog.
A great insight from the amazingly talented and wonderful Dan. It is the best advice I’ve ever heard. I’ve had many aspiring artists ask me on how to get in, and I never really know what to say aside from work hard and love what you do. But working hard is not always easy when things are not happening, I know this from personal experience and including I still get frustrated from this. Tonight, I read Dan’s advice. So simple, honest, and concise. I hope you find it to be as helpful as I do.
The illustration above is separate from the advice, but it’s always good to know that we all have self doubt. At the end of the day, you just have to be honest with yourself and work through it.
Another visual aid on the creative process from a lecture on Children’s Publishing.
